Makeover magic - Doris Lee
by Karen Tee

Doris Lee, 46, homemaker

Problem: Wrinkles

I have fine lines and wrinkles as well as laugh lines that get emphasised whenever I apply make-up.

It does not matter how light or heavy the make-up is, the products simply sink into the lines and make me look older than I am.

Brian Zhang Peng says: It is best not to use any foundation on Doris at all for two reasons – she already has a radiant complexion that does not need covering up and any foundation I use will emphasise her lines.

Instead, I just applied Skinflash Primer on her entire face as it has light-reflecting pigments that create the optical illusion of a line-free complexion.
Then I used youthful, fresh colours of pink and purple on her eyes to make her look less tired and washed out.

Make-up tip: Those with fine lines and wrinkles should stay away from matte finish foundations as they settle into lines, making them look more prominent.
Pick a foundation with a dewy or moist finish as these will scatter light rays to create the illusion of a more line-free complexion.

Her verdict: I am surprised that make-up can look so polished without the use of foundation. Brian has shown me how to look made-up enough for a formal occasion without ageing myself.

Products used:

Skinflash,
Skinflash Primer (below),
Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Fresh Powder Makeup loose powder,
5 Couleurs Eyeshadow in #173 Night Butterfly,
Diorblush Glowing Color Powder Blush in #829 A Touch of Blush, $63.
