Makeover magic - Melissa Koh
by Karen Tee

Melissa Koh, 25, dietitian

Problem: Uneven lips

My upper lip looks undefined, while my bottom lip looks swollen. When I put on make-up, I do not do anything to my lips – but this makes my make-up look incomplete.

I’d like to learn how to make the top lip look more defined and the bottom less swollen.

Norman Pohl says: I gave her nude lips and dramatic eyes to shift the attention away from her lips. Using lipliner, I lined her upper lip just outside her natural lipline and lined her lower lip just inside her lipline. The effect balances out her lips and helps to define them.

After using a nude-toned lipstick, I added gloss and shimmery loose powder to glam up the look.

Make-up tip: To tone down the colour of your lips, apply foundation over your lips.
This will also help your lipstick to have longer staying power.

Her verdict: I like the natural and subtle effect of this look.  Although I am still getting used to my lips looking nude instead of red, I look made-up instead of appearing like I forgot to apply lip colour.
