Most Embarrassing Valentine Moments (Part 2)

That unforgettable $300 dress

This was my first date, it was a perfect night and I had bought a $300 dress that was also perfect. It had beaded strips, black and really sexy.

My date came to pick me up and I saw him, our eyes met, I think I was going to fall in love. Just then i accidently stepped on my dress and the straps on my dress gave way. Every bead hit the floor with a 'tick tick tick".

My date went red in the face and I knew he was controlling his laughter. I ran back into the lift and mustered enough courage to change.

I changed, and in silence we walked towards to road to get a cab. Lo and behold I tripped again at a step and landed flat on my face. This time he could not control it.

We sat there and laughed and laughed.

I thought that the end of the date no one will take such a clumsy individual out. But well the date continued. We went to Hyatt for dinner and the table that we got had a tall tall vase in the center of it.

We had a ball of a time trying to talk to each other let alone see each other. The vase was part of the center of the table and could not be removed. The waiter brought in flowers at the wrong time and gave them to me directly instead of to my date so that he could give it to me.

Basically it was a night of embarrassing events. But being able to laugh at it made our day. Today we are married, we have two kids and it has been 10 years.

Running down Orchard Road

I could still remember it was our first Valentine date in year 2001. My hubby who is my boyfriend during that time dated me at Orchard Road. I was very excited about our first valentine date, however it turn out to be embarrassing moment for us.

When we meet each other, I had prepared a gift for him, he was quite shock and embarass because he did not buy anything for me, then he mentioned - let's go to the shopping centre opposite, I buy something for you.

At that point of time, I became angry , as I thought that I give you gift, it doesn't mean that you have to give me gift too.

My thinking was, if you have the intention to give gift, you would have prepared before hand.

After hearing his comment about buying gift on the spot for me, I started to run from Orchard HMV to Takashimaya to Wisma, Shaw....he keep chasing after me without knowing why.

He managed to catch up with me at Shaw, by then there were so many people looking at us...such an embarrassing moment !!!!

I explained to him what i was thinking when i cooled down after the short 'marathon'.

He apologized to me and said that he did not expect me to give him gift and was embarrassed without giving me anything.

In the end he bought me for a candlelight dinner and walk me home.

As for me, a gesture of sending me home is the most romantic moment in my date.
