Most Embarrassing Valentine Moments (Part 1)

My bike fell on my date

During the early days of courtship with my girlfriend, Sharon, I rode a big motorbike as I was then crazy about bikes and loved to feel the wind blowing against my face and body when I rode fast. That was when I didn't know her so well (she's now my wife).

I remember that fateful evening, I took her out on my motorbike for the very first time as I wanted to show off my big powerful machine. She had never been on one before so she was excited and nervous at the same time. The ride from her home to our makan destination was a breeze.

When we reached KFC in Kallang Park, I alighted first as usual. Suddenly, I heard a scream from Sharon. To my utter horror, when I turned around, I saw the entire bike had landed on her. She was struggling in vain to get the heavy vehicle off her. She wasn't hurt at all but her dignity was. She felt embarrassed to be caught in such a mortifying position. Worse still, she wore white pants which had some black oil stains. Fortunately, there wasn't anyone around in the parking lot to witness the incident.

Frankly, I was even more embarrassed than her as I had assumed wrongly that everyone knew how to alight from a motorbike. I was an idiot for not realising that some girls might not know, especially when it was their first time on the bike. I should have allowed her to alight first which should have been the gentleman-ly thing to do.

Needless to say, despite my profusive and sincere apologies, our date was ruined as she was very conscious of the dirty stubborn stains on her pants and didn't think highly of my vehicle of pride. So I had no choice but to give up my beloved bike eventually and buy a car which was much safer and definitely impressed her more.

Lacy rose

It was our first Valentine's Day and we both were excited. We arranged to have a Valentine's dinner at a restaurant. It was crowded and there were lots of couples around.

All the tables were arranged side by side in lines next to each other no wider than 0.5m apart, this means we could hear what the couples next to us were talking about. That's alright, anyway everyone was in a very great mood and it's quite fun to see so many couples around celebrating.

It's my first Valentine's Day and the same goes for my girlfriend. My girlfriend is good at handicraft so I bought her a red rose made of lace. While we were waiting for our dinner, out of curiosity we decided to check out how the rose was made, so we untie it and to our surprise and embarrassment...it was made from a red lacy thongs.

I quickly tuck it away into my pocket but it was in such a rush that I pulled the table cloth as well and the glass of water toppled over making a mess of it. "Alamak!" What have I done!!! Stunned and surprised faces stared at us. It was really the most awkward moment of my life. It was supposed to be a quite and romantic night but turned out to be a "busy" and embarrassing night!

Missing the boat

It happen last year, it was me and my girlfriend's first Valentine's Day. We planned to spend it on a cruise and we managed to book the cruise three weeks in advance..

On the 14th February 2009, we went to work as per normal, but excitely. We brought our luggage to office as well because the cruise departs at 8pm. So we were thinking of going to the ferry terminal after work at 6pm.

We reached Harbour Front at 6.30pm. Thinking that we were early, went to Breadtalk buy some bread. All ready!!

We walked straight to the entrance for the cruise only for the officer to tell us, "Sorry, you are too late. The Cruise is going to DEPART soon!!!" It was so embarassing as there was quite a few people standing around that area.

Both of us was like... ????? We walked out of Harbour Front station in disbelief of what just happened.
