Beauty queen gets rough in Ah Long movie

Do not underestimate Josephine “Jojo” Goh just because she looks dainty. The former Miss Astro Chinese second runner-up is a femme fatale in Malaysia’s first Chinese language Ah Long (loan shark) movie, titled Struggle. (Dai yee loong in Cantonese)

Yes, Jojo will play an undercover cop and she’s going to whoop some bad ass.

“I get to kick guys and hit them with bottles,” the 26-year-old beauty laughs. “It’s pretty violent stuff. I’ve got to do a lot of fight scenes ‘coz it’s an action film.”

Is Jojo aiming to be the next Michelle Yeoh, you ask? You bet.

“I’m learning the Chinese martial arts of Wing Chun to perfect my art of fighting,” she enthuses. “I’m pretty athletic and adventurous actually. I love outdoor sports.”

Directed by acclaimed Malaysian director CL Hor, the actioner will unite Jojo with Hong Kong biggies like Sam Lee, Eddie Cheung, Irene Wan, Rosanne Lui, and Lam Suet.

Mind you, Malaysia’s famous crime buster -- Datuk Michael Chong, the head of MCA Public Service and Complaints Department will guest on the film. He also doubles as its adviser.

“We’ve learned from experts like Datuk Michael Chong that ah long is a big business conglomerate,” explains Jojo. “There are nine layers in the ‘corporate’ structure. Girls like me are mainly placed in the IT section, which is the modern aspect of the business operation. They’ve gone very high tech these days.”

Struggle is slated to be released in Malaysia at the end of the year.
