SINGAPORE - A recent poll by Hotels.com has found that 64 per cent of Singaporeans know of someone who has returned from a holiday pregnant, while 14 per cent have said that they have returned from a vacation with a bun in the oven.
The survey was conducted from Dec 3-5, based on a sample size of more than 400 respondents from across the Asia-Pacific region.
Here's the press statement:
With the world abuzz following news of a royal baby on the way, Hotels.com has found, like Kate and Wills, we’re also no strangers to booking a getaway to jump on the baby-making bandwagon.
Following speculation that Kate and Wills became pregnant while travelling through Southeast Asia, Hotels.com reveals that more than two-thirds (64%) of Singaporeans know of someone who has come home from their getaway eating for two.
In comparison, only slightly less than half (47%) of respondents in Asia Pacific indicated the same.
Further to this, 14 per cent of Singaporeans are returning from their holidays with a baby on board, compared to just over one in 10 (12%) travellers in Asia Pacific.
“It looks like baby-making-moons might be the new holiday trend," said Zoe Chan, Senior PR Manager from Hotels.com Asia Pacific.
"For many couples, holidays are a rare opportunity to have some “quality time” together and the survey results prove that taking a holiday can bring all sorts of bliss.”
