SINGAPORE - Sin Chew Daily reported that Miss Singapore Universe 2006, Genecia Luo, 30, had received obscene text messages and was threatened with having a mutilated cat thrown in front of her house.

In the messages, the sender "Richard" had written that he and his friend "sincerely would like to enjoy Luo's body if can?"

"If can't, we will find time to mutilate a cat and put outside your place or burn your place to let you see we are not joking. We know where you stay. I know one day we can enjoy your body I can promise," the messages read.

Luo's mother, known only as Lim, 55, said the beauty queen received the messages on Monday but only told the family the following day.

Lim said they had lodged a police report in an effort to highlight the matter.

After they approached Singapore's daily Lianhe Wanbao for help, the reporter also received a similar message from the same number.

However, when the reporter tried to pursue the matter further, "Richard" did not reply.
