Some like it hot and some like it, well, old.

US actress Tara Reid, 36, created a stir recently when she was linked to 60-year-old Italian jeweller Fawaz Gruosi.

The unlikely pair were spotted behaving intimately on a yacht at the Cannes Film Festival.

It's the latest strange romance for Reid, who broke off her engagement to German businessman boyfriend Michael Axtmann in 2010 and entered into a marriage that "wasn't legal" with Zack Kehayov last summer in Greece.

But is it love this time - or the love of money?

Gruosi just happens to be the founder and president of luxury Swiss jeweller De Grisogono.

Reid's reps declined to comment on her personal life, but she said in March that she is "single and happy", and open to meeting new people.
