SINGAPORE - Chinese movie star Gong Li , 49, has clarified that she is not pregnant, nor is she dating anyone, media sources quoted her as saying.

Rumours were rife that Gong was cohabiting with her lover, a French photographer, in France.

Speaking to the Chinese media at the Cannes film festival on Saturday, she said that she is not seeing anyone at the moment, and will leave the possibility of marrying again "to fate".

Gong's ex-husband, Singaporean businessman Ooi Hoe Seong, recently confirmed to local media that the pair have been divorced for three years.

Gong also clarified that she is not pregnant, and lamented that with her tight work schedule, the media will soon find out in a few months that the rumours are not true.

Speculations on her pregnancy were adrift after pictures surfaced online of Gong sporting a rounded tummy and heftier frame while out shopping.
