"Auley" is Aussie

Her Grandma calls her “Auley” or “Ah-girl”, while her aunties and uncles call her “Oddry.” Back in Australia, she is known as “Auds” because her friends had lazy tongues.

With such tender nicknames, did you know that Audrey Yong is not local?

The 22-year-old lass was born and bred in Australia. She is in Singapore only for her cousin's wedding where she unexpectedly got picked, and now is in the running to become Female's Most Gorgeous person.

And boy, does this Aussie babe stand a big chance this year. She has a doll face and a pair of alluring eyes - a look you can't deny is refreshing.

Did you know also that Audrey has a tiny mole under her left eye which bothered her alot as a child?

"What mole?" a Singaporean would respond. Fact is, her porcelain face draws all attention away from that darn mole.

While it is widely known that the drying weather conditions in Australia can be nasty on skin, we wonder - how does Audrey keep her good skin?

The doll credits her flawless skin to a simple, yet widely practiced regime - cleanse, tone and moisturize.

What about her shapely figure? She said candidly: " I can’t say I have a formula but I do think laughter helps.

"Humour is definitely an essential. If the joke is funny enough, your abs can get a good workout.

"Okay, jokes aside, I actually did ballet for over 14 years. It’s great for strength training, muscle development, poise and musicality. As clichéd as this may sound, I also try to eat healthy and go for regular jogs."

So, she has a dancing background, but her dream and true passion lies in acting.

In Australia, Audrey has had some experiences acting in dramas for a few major networks.

She may be a young star in Australia, but how well will she fare in Female 50 Gorgeous People?

Read the rest of her interview in detail below.

Describe yourself in 5 words.
Crazy, charismatic, creative, compassionate, Christian.

What is your life motto?

Proverbs 3:5-6 sums it up: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” I also like to rip off sport brands. “Just do it” and “Impossible is nothing.” I try to live with no regrets because we’ve only got one life, so make the most of it.

Tell us about your favourite hobby.
I'd probably say traveling but we all know that’s a very expensive hobby and I can only practise the “art” of it once or twice a year. Anyone who lives with me would say singing in the shower! There is something therapeutic about the whole experience; the steam, the acoustics, the running water, helps with passionate expression. My dad says I’m just yelling.

Name one strength and one weakness.
I’m independent, but my friends say I’m too naïve sometimes.

Share a dating tip.
Be yourself and don’t make too many assumptions. Don’t overthink situations and just be natural. Finding that perfect guy/girl, is finding someone who loves YOU.

What is the one thing that turns you off when you go on a date?
When he’s late. Punctuality signifies respect.

What do you look for in an ideal partner?
Someone who shares the same faith as me, is confident and has a wicked sense of humour. Toned abs is a plus too.

So fellas out there, that's a cue for you to never be late on dates. Tardiness is unacceptable on dates even if you have washboard abs.
