Her wedding on the cards?

IT HAD been two years since local songbird Stefanie Sun last met her Taiwanese fans.

Their wait finally came to an end on 9 Apr when she flew to Taiwan to promote her upcoming world tour.

And although she should have been fielding questions about her concert in May, the media were a lot more interested in her 'bearded boyfriend', Nadim.

Said Stefanie: 'I don't like to be all hush-hush when it comes to love but I do feel that this is a private matter which I prefer to keep in my heart.'

She didn't explicitly say whom she was referring to, but her vibrant smile seemed to say it all.

Stefanie has always been low profile when it comes to her love life.

Her mother, who accompanied her on the trip, said with a laugh: 'We don't give Stefanie any pressure and she likes it that way. Since she's happy, that's good enough for us.'

Stefanie has never had rumours about her love life before. Will it be any different this time?

'I'm now really busy with my world tour and after that I will have to concentrate on recording my album so I don't have time to think about such things,' she said.

Could there possibly be a whirlwind wedding then?

'I haven't thought about that either,' was her reply.

But after a moment's deliberation, she added that she will know the answers to these questions when 'the feeling and timing' are right.

'Since I entered showbiz, the media has speculated on my wedding date every year,' she said.

'Here I am, still not married.'

But she also said that a girl's 'marriage age' is something that is beyond her control and she will leave it to when 'everything is right'.

Stefanie also addressed the issue of her two-year hiatus.

She admitted that she hasn't been eager to release an album just 'for the sake of releasing one'.

Said Stefanie: 'I want to make music that I love and I will wait till my collection of songs is complete before I release my album.

'Honestly, I do know that my album has been a long time coming but I did face quite a few problems in the process of putting it together.'

High standards

For example, Stefanie's 'high expectations' has caused her to be extremely critical of every song that she records.

Often, she would find herself re-recording a certain song until it has met her stringent standards.

To date, she has been satisfied with only three songs and she admitted to being 10 songs away from a complete album track list.

Having released 10 albums in nine years and tried every musical style, she confessed that what's most important to her, is the vibe of the album.

Right now she is more concerned about the ticket sales for her concert.

She said: 'Which artiste wouldn't be? But I have learnt to be more relaxed about such things now, especially (after) my two year break.'

readers' comments
1. Stephanie has only one type of singing, she is not versatile, I dont listen to much of her music. If you hear one song, the rest is the same, very predictable.

2. She dumped ang mor and embraced angmor, big deal?
