The "Save Aware" campaign

A petition has been started to protest against the new exco of Aware.

As stated on its website (www.we-are-aware.sg), the "Save Aware" campaign is petitioning for a vote of no confidence in the new exco as "the foundation of AWARE as an inclusive and secular society has been challenged".

They accuse the new exco of a lack of transparency, lack of experience, the unjustified termination and disregard of experienced volunteers, and the undermining of Aware's fundamental values.

In its petition on gopetition.com, there is an appeal to the public to join Aware and attend the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to be held on May 2.

Calling their move a "hostile takeover", the passionate appeal on gopeition.com said that new exco members are "linked to fundamentalist" groups, and warn that their "fundamentalist ambitions" may extend beyond Aware.

The women's group has been embroiled in controversy since a group of new members was unexpectedly voted in as its new committee.

The Way I See It:

As an established social organization, the fundamental principle of gay and lesbian issues should not deviate from the norm of moral values.

Otherwise, please retire. :D

lets give the new committee a chance.
They've been elected democratically.

The old Guards are not saints either..
I dont know any of the new or old farts!

change is good. Being inclusive of the gays & lesbians
does not mean all the literature must include them as normal people..we dont have to criticise them or ostracise these deviants but they should not be portrayed as normal people
when THEY ARE NOT NORMAL. so the old guards must get the point.

dont blame the church...all religions does not condone GAYS OR LESBIANS even though we're told to be tolerant but it does not mean we should encourage this lifestyle

get it>????
Hope these comments will not be removed as many similar comments from many have been removed or censured.from the forums...unless ST .....
