What S'porean women don't want for Christmas

Beautiful flowers and decadent chocolates are known to melt every girl's heart; but not when it's Christmas, it seems.

The usual romantic gifts may no longer be worthy of a Christmas present, Singaporean girls tell RazorTV.

Vouchers and photoframes as well, are a no-no to some girls. Here are some responses:

"Flowers are a waste of money...and they die anyway, so it's a waste of money."

"Chocolates...it's too common already, to be a Christmas present."

Said another: "I would say expensive things, because it is quite pressurizing. He might expect something in return."

In fact, the price of the gift doesn't matter. Girls prefer thoughtful gifts that showed their men had put in the effort.

Like?

"Something meaningful, something that reminds me of our relationship."

Cards and letters are a surprising favourite.

"They take the time and effort to write the card, and it really contains their sincerity."

"I would leave it up to him, but it doesn't have to be very materialistic. Because it matters more how he feels. I mean, his money does not equate to how much he loves me."

But of course if you can afford to splurge, your girl will be more than happy to receive.

Gifts like a holiday and jewelry are welcome.

And we didn't have to look far to find men who are willing to spoil their girlfriends silly.

Find out more about the kinds of gifts ladies find appealing, and why.

As for me....the ideal gift for a financial independence girl/women/lady.... is to cook or a picnic basket full of food that you make for her.... they dont need any expensive gift to impress them or.... get them things that cant cant affort... like a jet plan, ships, diamond that worth millions....

when you friends says that he will buy you coffee.... i feel happier that he buy and serve it to me (even thou its just $0.50) than he ask me to get it myself (that may cost $5). its the things that ppl do that touch your heart not the dollars and cent...:)

most working women in Singapore are self sufficient, can afford anything under the sun
if they r single, the last thing u can impress her as a regular guy on the street, is to buy her anything she could afford
so is a bit of challenge there, and on the flip side, she doesn't need love too, to be fair...once you reach that stage, of financial independence, the love life is somewhat less relevant than you know, 20 years ago, where most peoples are slightly poorer
so, poor and love life do have some correlation
if you are independent, is different ball game all together, the person you wish to have will be a far reaching figure....even with a box of chocolate, it does taste different, if he didn't come by, is ok too, so be it ...still happy as single
