I really loved him on TV
by The New Paper

Grace Tan, 27, blogger

Would you quit a job that pays $114,000 a year?

Miss Grace Tan did just that - and is all the happier for it.

The 27-year-old gave up her high-paying sales job two years ago to spend more time with her family.

The full-time blogger now earns between $3,000 and $6,000 a month. She is writing a book on how to get into the blogging business.

Being out of the rat race has enabled her to pursue her goals in life, one of which is to meet Mike Kasem.

Said Miss Tan: "I loved him in (Channel 5's satirical comedy series) Random Island, where he played the Child Whisperer aka Cesar Milano. "He was hilarious and I laughed my head off.

I watched all the episodes just for him.

"He seems like a really funny guy on TV and I want to see if he's like that in real life."

She said that if Kasem were to choose her, she would go into the date with no expectations.

If things work out, that would be great, and if they don't, she would have made a new friend.

As part of her job, she has interviewed local celebrities such as Gurmit Singh and Irene Ang, but she said Kasem remains her favourite comedian.
