Angelina Jolie may be on the outs with the mother-in-law.

Jolie was reportedly furious after boyfriend Brad Pitt's mother, Jane, insisted on buying "girly" clothes for her notoriously tomboyish grand-daughter, Shiloh.

Despite Shiloh and her five siblings being allowed to choose their own clothes, Jane Pitt is said to have bought a series of feminine outfits for the six-year-old.

According to the Evening Standard, Jolie found Mama Pitt's move "disrespectful", considering it is well known that she likes to dress like her brothers.

It is the second time this year that Jolie has been angered by Mrs Pitt.

Previously, Pitt's mother wrote a letter to a local US newspaper urging Americans to vote against President Barack Obama in the upcoming elections because of his support for gay marriage.

Jolie and Pitt are prominent supporters of gay marriage and Mr Obama, and were said to be appalled by the letter.

They once said they would not marry until same-sex marriage was legalised in the US but became engaged after pressure from their six children.
