For almost 17 years, Protima never stopped believing that her missing husband, Subodh Ravidas, would return home even though he was presumed to be dead.
Her faith was rewarded when she was reunited with Ravidas, who was found to be staying in a mental asylum in Amritsar on Monday.
He was admitted in 2007 following his repatriation from Pakistan after spending 12 years in prison there and had lost his memory.
His family was contacted when he regained his memory after years of treatment.
