ITALY, Milan - Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi, the relatively new artistic directors of Gianfranco Ferré presented an intricately detailed collection which experimented with volume and geometric cuts. Shoulders were squared off and accentuated with studs and topstitching, or with pointed shapes. Velvet added softness to this special collection. Their attention to detail was evident in the platform shoes, the heels of which were inspired by crystal balls. Hair was swept back in chignons and eyebrows drawn on in black pencil. The blouse, the signature piece of the Ferré days was reinterpreted in the form of tunics and with a Victorian style. Three-dimensional knits were embellished with Murano crystals. For eveningwear long gowns were presented to bring the refined and precise fashion show to an end.
