According to an analysis done by Newsweek and The Daily Beast, Singapore is ranked 37th on the list of “Best and Worst Places for Women”, with an overall score of 80.8 out of 100.
The study, which took into consideration five aspects of justice, health, education, economics and politics, saw two other Asian nations put ahead of Singapore in the 165 country list.
Philippines clocked in at the 17th spot while China came in a close second among Asian countries at the 23rd spot.
The top spot went to Iceland which scored an overall 100.0, earning top marks in education and justice, while Chad was found to be the worst place for females, scoring poorly in health and education.
The countries were graded on a scale of one to 100, with 100 being the highest achievable score. The details of the five graded aspects are as follows:
Justice - Laws protecting women from domestic violence, adolescent marriage, marital rape, as well as women's access to land and bank loans.
Health - Rates of maternal death, HIV, infant mortality, and access to safe abortions and skilled health workers.
Education - Education level, literacy, and gender equality in schools.
Economics - Percentage of women in the labour force, gender pay gap, ability to advance in career, and access to all industries.
Politics - Percentage of women in government and in senior positions

you know that is lubbish. :D
wrong, there will many baobie girls in my Bao Village :D
Giggles, you're still nice I know. Go read your posts again hor. Anyway, nothing to argue about lah.
How come you so good guessing ?:D
Nonetheless, not bother to confirm or contradict your guess - not important to me what you think of me.
Curious tho - when I claimed to be sexually-appealing, please ? And how you know I couldn't settle down with a local gal ? And also when I said our gals got no substance ?:p
And when did I badmouth SG women ? I just commented what made you think women China/Philippines cannot be more equal than SG women.
You alright, Strawberry ?:(
Neither interested in whether you praising or badmouth our local men. I owe no obligation to our locals - male or female.
It's fine we have nothing common. Do you want to have something common with me ? :D I have .....
Actually I did not bothered to read his posts. So, I guess you're the same league as our James? Based on my observations on him over the past year (as a mirror) likely you're in your late 40s or even 50s. Unhappy with your middle rank job, normal or below average looking, claimed to be sexually appealing, but can't or never settle down with a local girl before thus claim that they have no substance (only yourself have substance). Typical MCP cases in my view. Such are lousy traits lah. You see, no matter how lousy our men are, at minimum we or me still find praises on them. We don't bad mouth. You bunch are just losers that will continue to bad mouth your own people. So we have nothing in common to talk on. Maybe politics lor  Btw, James is fun to talk .....
Dear Strawberry,
Of cos, I read the criteria used, lah. U think I comment blindly or what ?
So, you got the answer from James' comments now ?:)
It's not about their women peeling shrimps' shell or coconuts for their men, it's about their being given better opportunities and being treated more equal than our women - in education, justice, health, politics, economics - in their society. Even if they do, it because they know this better way please their men.
Also sometimes, it is not our society reject women in some jobs, etc, but rather our women refusing accept certain "tougher" jobs. I still recall a local woman top engineering student who said she preferred sit in air-con office and command staff around than out in the field working under hot sun and getting over-tanned !
.....
when i mentioned this to my colleagues, their eyes turned big, gave me the usual singaporean gesture 'huh!?' which i find it very irritating, if you look at chinese woman character, they quite fierce and independent, don't be fooled by their demure outlook ...is already in the picture, if you got further north, the the lady is a lot more taller, they could easily pin you down on the floor with no problem, they even fight with men on public transport...the women from inland will travel to work in big cities ( yes they are poor, doesn't mean they .....
you will be the lonesome human in your bao village. :D
