BANKGKOK

Chai Red Label

Chai Jeam-Amornrat was educated in Visual Communication Design at Silpakorn University, Bangkok, and then completed his Master’s in Fashion and Costume Design at the National College of Art and Design in Oslo, Norway. He has won many design awards in Paris, Oslo, Singapore and Bangkok. His strong track record of design excellence has made him a fixture at Bangkok Fashion Week.

Curated by Ek Thongprasert

Ek Thongprasert graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Art in Antwerp. Curated is a conceptual fashion brand for men and women that takes inspiration from various design fields, and its ideas are executed in clothes that are simple – yet extraordinary and timeless.

Flynow The Leather

FLYNOW is one of Thailand’s most internationally recognized fashion names. It started as a small womenswear collection in 1983 and has since worked its way into becoming one of the top fashion brands in Thailand. The brand also includes a leather range, FLYNOW THE LEATHER, which was conceived in 1989 and which has garnered an amazing response. FLYNOW has 10 standalone shops and more than 60 distributors all over Thailand.

Frank

FRANK is inspired by a deep understanding of aesthetics. Designers Manasikarn Thamma-opas and Pannatorn Boonmahitthisud live by the credo of Dedication To Craft. Exquisitely handcrafted, each Frank accessory tells a story that will surprise and delight with its unusual details. The contemporary designs, incorporating woodwork, genuine leather and additional stones, make each piece a distinctive, handmade artistic expression. Manasikarn and Pannatorn understand that jewellery is personal and that every detail is of ultimate importance, ensuring that you will experience ultimate luxury when wearing their creations.

Greyhound

Greyhound’s style is urban street chic targeted at men and women in their 20s and 30s who work hard and play hard. They are worldly-wise, up-to-date with trends and technology and love the arts. They enjoy fashion but hate to be branded as fashion victims.

Kloset

Created in 2001 in Thailand, Kloset’s designs are for those with a strong passion for fashion. Founder and designer, Mollika Ruangkritya first discovered her talents as a little girl when she cultivated her skills by making dolls, toys, headbands, and reconstructing old things. Today that same child-like wonder remains the main source of inspiration for Kloset’s creations. Handcrafted details; like lace nets, low gauge knits and ribbon tape, add to the exceptional and unique quality of the clothes.

Munchu’s

Munchu’s is a fashion label founded in Bangkok, Thailand back in 2004. Munchu’s clothes are often brutally feminine: strong masculine military jackets, tuxedos, and jumpsuits are made in soft feminine fabrics such as chiffons and satins. The Munchu’s woman is always sexy, daring, and sexually empowered by that very mix of the male uniformity. Designer Munchumart Numbenjapol is a London’s Central St. Martins School fashion graduate and worked as a designer for Playhound, the more established Thai fashion brand, between 2000 and 2003. In 2004 she left Playhound and launched her first private collection at the Elle Magazine’s Bangkok Fashion Week 2004.

Munchu’s ever since has consistently presented its collections at numerous events including Bangkok Fashion Week and Elle Bangkok Fashion Week. Munchu’s flagship store at Siam Center first opened in November 2005 and is the place that holds the brand’s most complete fashion collections as well as occasional art exhibitions by young art talents. Other local outlets include Siam Paragon, Central World Plaza, and the Emporium in Bangkok.

Nsha

nsha (Sanskrit for “intoxicating”) is a womenswear brand founded by Nishita Shah who wants to create glamorous clothes that enhance the lifestyle of today’s cosmopolitan woman enjoying a dynamic and intoxicating global whirl of motion and transition, wellness and fun. It is a third generation, urbaninspired clothing concept that combines fashion aesthetics and luxury with performance and wellness need and a tribute to the bustling cities Nishita herself is always dashing to and from.

Pitch

Pitch is an accessories line inspired by Pitchaya Srirapong’s travels around the world. A fleeting moment, an evoking memory, and chance ironic encounters are culled as inspirations for a brand that acts as Pitchaya’s personal travelogue. For Pitch’s debut collection, look out for accessory pieces that wind back time with cheeky mechanical watch details captured behind glass, or oxidised metal pieces that recall old-world luxury watches – presented with an ironic tone. Each piece is unique and a treasure in itself.

Sanshai

Jirat Subpisankul celebrates glamorous femininity, as well as the chic and sexy. The Sanshai woman is no stickler for uniformity, preferring instead the use of contrasts and opposing elements in colours, forms or lines. Proportion and harmony, elaborate cutting and origami are Sanshai signatures and every inspiration generates its own energy to create the most wearable look for women who love to be casual but still glamorous.

SECOND ISSUE

After graduating from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Bangkok, designer Roj decided to open a little store called Issue in 1999, not knowing the impact he could leave on the Thai fashion scene. Roj derives inspiration from his travels and from interesting fabrics. He was invited to be a guest on the renowned TV show, America’s Next Top Model, where his clothes were displayed. Issue clothes have also been featured in Teen Vogue and L'Officiél Paris. Issue now boasts three shops in Bangkok. Roj will be designing a collection specially for BLUEPRINT 2010, titled SECOND ISSUE.
