THE DOORS to beauty chain Wax in the City may be shuttered, but another door has opened for its 3,000 customers stranded with unfinished packages.

At a closed door meeting on the 8th of April, 2010, three spa chains - Atos Wellness Group, Subtle Senses and Rustic Nirvana - brought 13 spa owners together to form the Spa, Beauty, Wellness Alliance.

The alliance announced that they will compensate the estimated 3,000 customers let down by Wax In The City.

Stranded customers will be able to redeem the remainder of their packages at 34 spa outlets that are part of the Alliance.

While some may see such bail outs as letting errant beauty and wellness players off too easily, the Alliance members say they are chiefly concerned with the customer’s well being.
