SOL PLAYGROUND CAFE

Where: Turf City, 200 Turf Club Road, 01-21, tel: 6467-8681; open: 9am to 8.30pm, weekdays, 8.30am to 9.30pm, weekends

What: A child- and adult-friendly restaurant which serves dishes such as paella, meatballs, fish and chips, chicken curry and lamb chops. It has an outdoor playground and an indoor play area for younger children. The restaurant also has a room for nursing mothers.

Price: Kids' meals cost $10. Salads from $9, paella from $18

THE TANGLIN TREE


Where: Friven & Co Building, 56 Tanglin Road, B1-01, tel: 6733-0992; open: 11am to 10pm, weekdays, 8.30am to 10pm, weekends

What: This Aussie-style bistro has a large yellow-and-purple playhouse with a sandpit and flying fox that will keep your kids entertained while you sit on the deck and chat with friends. The bistro's menu has soups, salads, sandwiches and main courses such as lamb and cod fillet. Cakes and pastries available too.

Price: Kids' meals cost $12.50. Salads from $7 and pasta from $12

PETIT BOWL


Where: United Square, 101 Thomson Road, 01-77/78, tel: 6256-5359; open: 11am to 8.30pm daily

What: The store sells meals for kids up to six years old. It uses organic grains, vegetables and fruit and has items such as apple and prune porridge, butternut squash risotto, and chicken with sweet corn and rice. For babies just starting on solids, the shop cooks and purees vegetables and fruit. Customers can also buy frozen take-home packs. The individual servings just need to be steamed.

Price: From $4.90 for two 55g servings

ONE-NINETY


Where: Four Seasons Hotel Singapore, 190 Orchard Boulevard, tel: 6831-7250; open: 11.45am to 2.45pm every Sunday

What: The hotel opens part of its ballroom, which is converted into a play area with a bouncing castle and face-painting. The kids' buffet includes brownies and cupcakes.

Price: $45 for children aged five to 11. $88 for adults, $138 with alcohol

CAFE SWISS


Where: Swissotel The Stamford, 2 Stamford Road, tel: 6431-6156; open: noon to 2.30pm every Sunday

What: The kids' buffet includes roasted turkey, rainbow jelly, dory fish and mini burgers. A designated play area for up to 20 kids is set up in the restaurant on Sundays. It has candy floss and popcorn stations as well as a Nintendo Wii to keep kids entertained.

Price: $25 for children aged six to 12. $55 for adults

THE LINE


Where: Shangri-La Hotel Singapore, 22 Orange Grove Road, tel: 6213-4275; open: noon to 2.30pm every Sunday

What: The Line Shop is converted into a little buffet restaurant just for kids. A bouncing castle is also erected within the shop. Food items for them include pizza, sausages and pasta. Kids can also dine at the buffet spread in the main dining area.

Price: $42 for children aged six to 11
