Get lucky with a Fukubukuro bag at Central.

Back at the Eu Tong Sen Street mall for the third year, this is a Japanese retail tradition of filling bags with assorted mystery items and selling them at a discount.

Spend $80 at any retail or F&B outlet in Central and you get a chance to buy a Fukubukuro Bag for $60 on a first-come, first-served basis.

A total of 250 bags containing more than $50,000 worth of prizes are up for grabs till Feb 28. A new batch of 50 bags is released every Friday.

Contents, which will be unveiled only after buyers collect the bags from the redemption booth on Level2, include return air tickets to Hong Kong and Bangkok, an Apple iPhone 3GS, diamond jewellery and electronic goods.

Contents of each bag are guaranteed to be worth at least three times the purchase value.
