ASIAN men have the tendency to suffer from post-natal depression after their wives give birth, reports Sin Chew Daily.
The publication said this was due to the men’s poor ability in expressing their emotions.
It quoted a Singaporean article as reporting that doctors had diagnosed several cases of depression among men in the republic and found that this was related to their wives giving birth.
Another reason for depression to set in could have been the higher financial burden from having to care for the baby and the lack of family support.
It was also found that fathers whose babies had not been planned were more likely to get depressed.
