LACEY AND RACY

Romantic lace got a modern makeover. Designers opted for short snazzy dresses over the dowdy, longer styles.

Burberry Prorsum (17) added a military touch to lace with towering bondage heels, chunky leather cuffs and a utility belt.

Miu Miu's (18) colour-blocked number was decorated with a leopard-print collar and edgy buckled stilletoes.

A similar duel of soft and hard elements was seen at Christian Dior, with a leather bomber jacket and chunky boots paired with a sheer black lace mini.

Giorgio Armani (19), meanwhile, went for a subtler touch by playing peekaboo with a cut-out dress revealing a lilac lace top.
