Enough clothes to last a year

Owner of beauty salon Cristalle de Paris, Micheline Ong, has enough clothes to ensure she never has to repeat her clothes for at least a year. The 54-year-old businesswoman, makes twice-yearly shopping trips to fashion capitals such as Japan and Paris.

In an interview with U-Weekly, she revealed that she would lug back at least "one to two cases" of clothes and accessories back home each time from her shopping expeditions.

She told U-Weekly: "Paris is renowned for its cutting-edge fashion, while Japan offers trendy and up-to-date clothes that are known for their good quality, handiwork and is also exquisite.

And Micheline buys in bulk, which means she drops at least tens of thousands of dollars per shopping expedition, although her workload means she does not get to shop in Singapore.

And when she does go overseas on work assignments, she makes sure to set aside at least four to five days for shopping, when she will pick up items such as shoes, bags, clothes and jewellery.

She said: "I am very focused when I shop, to make sure that my clothes match and has a sense of completeness."

And money is not an issue, for this woman who likes to constantly update her wardrobe. Brands are not important either, as she feels that each label has their own style.

But she is also careful with the way she spends. She said: "I'm a businesswoman, so I'll still be watchful about my spending. After all, shopping requires money too.

"I wouldn't want to lose my entire family fortune."
