Jimmy Choo designs for H&M

LONDON - LUXURY shoe designer Jimmy Choo, whose creations are coveted by fashionistas worldwide, is launching a range for the high street to be sold in Swedish chain store H&M, the firms said on Wednesday.

The British brand, which sells shoes for hundreds of pounds a pair, will offer footwear as well as clothing, bags and men's shoes and accessories in about 200 H&M stores across the world from Nov 14.

A spokesman for the high-street store said the prices had yet to be set for the collection but they would probably be around 100 pounds (S$238) - more expensive than most items that H&M stocks.

'It's a joy to be able to offer top end designer shoes and bags of excellent quality to our customers,' said H&M creative adviser Margareta van den Bosch.

Tamara Mellon, founder and president of Jimmy Choo, said the collection would be appealing to 'fashion savvy, street smart women, and to be including some great pieces for men, too'.
