She also makes heads spin

DJ TENASHAR

Here at the Flame Awards headquarters, we have not had anyone embody the word babe so literally for a while.

Judging from the comments of netizens, it was local club DJ Tenashar's babeliciousness that got her the number 87 spot on DJ Mag's annual Top 100 DJs list two months ago, ranking higher than luminaries such as Bob Sinclar and Paul Oakenfold.

Tenashar, now based in Hong Kong, had made a sexy promotional video to rally fans to vote for her inclusion into the list. Length of video? Just over a minute. Total number of shots? 49.

Total number of times we see her ample assets, which according to Hypertune Mag are 34C-24-34? 24.

But the buxom 26-year-old, whose real name is Debbie Valerie Long, will have none of that talk about her sex appeal being the only reason she got votes.

In a previous interview with The New Paper, she said: "In the video, I'm in my lingerie, but so what?

"Other model-DJs keep wearing sexy dresses and tight lingerie to spin. But I can't do that. My gigs are really high-energy... Half the time, you'd be worried about a boob popping out."

So practical.

NOMINATION

So it follows that when told of her Babe nomination, she demurred.

"I don't want to win any pageant, I don't want to win any Babe of the Year (title)," she said. "I would like to win 'DJ of the Year', I would like to win 'Most Musically-inclined of the Year', 'Best Artist of the Year' though."

We wish Tenashar all the best in winning any of the above-mentioned titles.

She has, after all, given up entirely on Babe of the Year.

She does not know fellow nominees Jayley Woo and has a vague recollection of the former accountant from the City Harvest Church trial Serina Wee - whom Tenashar called "some person from that pastor thing."

It is the latter whom she thinks should get the title. "The accountant can win it, no problem," she said.
