SINGAPORE - Popular Hong Kong TVB actress Fala Chen has 'discreetly' confirmed splitting up from karaoke heir boyfriend, Daniel Sit Sai Hang at a cosmetic media conference on Wednesday, said celebrity news site Jaynestars.

Addressing the media, the 31-year-old Chinese star said they have both 'reached a consensus', and wished to deal with the split privately to avoid any impact on their professional careers.

Rumours of the impending breakup surfaced after the former beauty queen recently posted a cryptic message on her blog: 'A man needs to be genuine and trustworthy'.

Media sites and fans speculated that the blog post could be aimed at her Neway prince and rumoured husband Daniel Sit.

Jaynestars reported a couple's tiff had broken out recently over Sit's unwillingness to invest in Chen's own artist management company.

Additional reports online said Sit was unable to pump in money as his wealth is linked to his family, who were not keen on the business idea.

Other online sites added that Sit was also not supportive of Chen currently pursuing further studies in the United States.

At the conference, Chen addressed the rumours and dismissed that the split was money-related.

She told the media that she has experienced many changes this year and her values have developed, said a fan site.

The 31-year-old star asked her fans and the media to stop asking about the split, and expressed she is in a 'state of bliss' and feels 'blessed'.

The couple have been making headlines since they started openly dating in 2006.

There are also unconfirmed rumours that the pair got married in 2008.

They have also been seen wearing rings which the media and netizens have speculated to be wedding bands since 2011. However, the rumours could not be verified as the rings were not worn on the traditional wedding finger.

The celebrity news website also reported that they co-own two residential properties in the United States.
