List of 10 most hurtful phrases hurled at parents

A list of 10 most hurtful phrases uttered by children to parents have been posted online and a survey in China showed that at least 90 per cent of the young people had used these phrases, Sin Chew Daily reported.

Among the hurtful phrases are: "Okay, I already knew about it. Stop nagging"; "Anything? If nothing I will hang up now"; "You will not understand even I told you about it. Stop asking"; "How many times have I told you not to do it. You have never done it right"; "Your way is outdated"; and "I have asked you not to clean my room and now I cannot find my stuff."

A 30-year-old woman said she had used such phrases against her mother when she was young.

"Now I am a mother and I realise the selfless love of my parents," she said, adding that she and her mother, who is in her 50s, had maintained a good relationship.

Another 30-year-old Netizen said he felt remorseful after hurling those hurtful phrases to his mother.

A 61-year-old mother said her son would raise his voice if she kept reminding him on certain things.

"I will also raise my voice but we will be okay after awhile. After all, he is my son," said the mother.
