Don't cry over hair loss

Here's a piece of news that will make those worried about losing their hair heave a sigh of relief: Losing approximately 50 strands of hair a day is normal.

That's according to French dermatologist Corinne Jouanique.

Everyone loses hair when you wash and comb it. One even experiences hair loss when one is asleep.

But lose more than those 50 strands, and you've got something to worry about.

Statistics show that as many as 45 per cent of women go through life without a full head of hair.

When women experience hair loss, there is usually increased thinning all over the scalp.

The most common causes include abrupt hormonal changes, stress, prolonged intake of strong medication, sudden weight loss, and the use of unsuitable hair-care products.

All of these are usually under your control, especially the latter.

Seek help from Phyto, the world's leading botanical scalp and hair-care expert.

Boasting 85 per cent effectiveness, it is relaunching its best-selling and award-winning Phytocyane Revitalizing Thinning Hair Treatment.

Created exclusively for women, the treatment fights and prevents hair loss.

Hair growth is triggered using vitamins, and the regeneration and strengthening of the hair bulb is achieved through the use of botanical active ingredients.

Phyto also promises to enhance the beauty of your hair, giving it a natural shine and more volume.

The treatment has to be done three times a week for a month. For prolonged effectiveness and visible results, Phyto recommends that you continue the treatment over three months.

Phytocyane Revitalizing Thinning Hair Treatment comes in the form of ampoules. You can get 12 ampoules (7.5ml each) for $118 from Robinsons, John Little and Beauty by Nature stores. You can also find the treatment, as well as other Phyto products, at selected Watsons, Guardian, BHG, Metro, and Unity stores.
