Death a shock to former actress

CHRISTOPHER Lee isn't the only celebrity who lost a father this week.

Former actress Huang Biren also lost her father when he died suddenly on Monday - the last day of Chinese New Year.

Biren, 40, told Lianhe Wanbao that her 67-year-old father was well on Sunday.

He was in a good mood and bought yu sheng and beef as Biren's entire family were having a meal together that day.

After eating, her father had actually wanted to visit a relative, but was too tired and so, he decided to go to bed.

He woke up at about 1am to use the toilet but was found passed out on a reclining chair next to the toilet.

Biren's mother tried to rouse him but he could not stand up. He was rushed to the hospital, where he lapsed into a coma.

Biren told Wanbao that before he became unconscious, she had asked him if he was alright.

He had told her not to worry and that he was fine.

Biren said that she had never imagined that those would be the last words she would say to her father.

His death came as a shock to her as her father had always been healthy.

He had a mild case of low blood platelet count but the condition was under control as he was taking medicine and had routine check-ups.
