HONG KONG - Former actress Athena Chu and her husband welcomed their baby girl into the world earlier this week, according to Hong Kong media reports.
It was an early birthday gift for Chu, who turns 41 on Oct 25.
Chu's husband, Beyond frontman Paul Wong, posted on his Weibo account that "'char siew pau' has arrived home", referring to his nickname for the baby.
The couple have yet to decide on the baby's name.
Wong, 48, also thanked every one for their well wishes and concern.
The pair successfully kept the birth a secret from the media, and only announced it after they brought the baby home.
Wong's most recent posts had detailed Chu's pregnancy symptoms, one of which described how during her pregnancy, Chu would scold Wong for no reason.
"She'd say things like 'why did you turn off the TV and wake me up?' or 'why did you scare me awake by switching off the lights?'", wrote Wong.
But he added that he never got angry at her for finding fault with him, because she was carrying their child.
"When she's pregnant, everything she says seems reasonable", he wrote.
It is the first child for the long-time couple, who indicated that they will get married at the end of the year.
Another celebrity who recently gave birth to a baby girl as well is former Hong Kong actress Gigi Lai.
Contrary to media reports that the 41-year-old was expecting twins, Lai gave birth to a 3.5kg baby girl on Oct 8.
The parents of two-year-old twin daughters Pricia and Gianna, named their newborn Pegella, according to media reports.
Lai married businessman Patrick Ma in 2008.
