IT SOUNDS like an instalment of the Twilight vampire saga where Robert Pattinson has forgiven and reconciled with girlfriend Kristen Stewart because they decided they “couldn’t live without each other”.

Twilight star Pattinson had broken up with co-star and girlfriend Stewart months ago, after he found out she had an affair with married film director Rupert Sanders, whom she met on the set of Snow White and the Huntsman.

But the couple apparently patched up on Saturday evening after Pattinson, 26, had a heart-to-heart talk with Stewart, 22, and forgave her “stupid mistake”, a source told Britain’s The Sun.

The source said Pattinson had moved in with Stewart once again and added: “They pretty much decided they couldn’t live without each other.

“Kristen poured her heart out to Robert and told him it was a one-off and a mistake.”

Pattinson had moved out of their Hollywood home in June after news broke of Stewart’s affair with 41-year-old Sanders.

Pattinson went to stay at Reese Witherspoon’s California ranch, where Kristen’s dad John begged him to patch things upwith his daughter.

Pattinson, who was shocked at Twilight fans’ onslaught of rage towards Stewart, finally relented.

The source said Stewart, who wore Pattinson’s tops to promote her new movie On The Road, flew from her Toronto promotional tour to join himat the ranch.

The source said: “Rob sees it as Kristen made a really stupid mistake. After a lot of long tearful talks, they’ve worked it out.

“Rob can see how truly sorry Kristen is and has totally forgiven her. They really do love each other.” Moved in together

The pair havenow moved into a secluded pad in the same Los Angeles compound where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have a place.

Twilight fans may also have to thank Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob in the saga, for helping Pattinson and Stewart patch up.

A source told entertainment website contactmusic.com: “Kristen is not sure who she can trust so she is leaning on just a few of her closest friends.

“One of those friends is Taylor Lautner. He has been by her side every step of the way, offering his support and unconditional love.

“They have always been really close friends. Kristen knows he has her back behind-the-scenes and will be there for her during all the ‘Breaking Dawn: Part 2’ publicity tours.”

Lautner would almost certainly prefer to avoid the awkwardness that's inevitable when the three stars set off for their publicity tour in support of “Breaking Dawn:Part 2”.

While he offered a consoling shoulder to Stewart, he was also careful not to offend Pattinson and kept in touch with him, the source said.

“It’s not like Taylor is taking sides. He also really cares about Rob Pattinson, but he knows Rob is already getting tons of support plus he has always been better friends with Kristen. They have a very special bond,” the source told Hollywoodlife.com.

According to entertainment industry insiders, Stewart and Pattinson are keeping their reconciliation quiet to avoid facing a public backlash.
