Ex-beauty queen charged in HK

MISS Malaysia Chinese International 1998 Debbie Goh (pic) was charged for driving a car without permission on Sept 7, 2009 in Hong Kong, China Press reported.

A man was charged with assisting and instigating Goh.

Both of them pleaded not guilty and posted bail of HK$1,000 (about RM380).

According to the daily, Goh, 33, was said to have been driving a Mercedes sports car which belonged to a woman named Sarina.

The value of the car was about RM190,000.

Goh's manager described the case as "a very funny and ridiculous misunderstanding" and said the truth would be revealed later.

When contacted by the daily, Goh, who is from Johor Baru, said she could not comment as the case was pending in court.

Goh said the man was her business partner and not boyfriend. The court fixed Nov 9 for trial.
