Uniqlo opens at Causeway Point

JAPANESE fashion brand Uniqlo officially opens its new store at Causeway Point today.

The store opens at 10.30am and, to woo shoppers, Uniqlo is giving away a special tote bag to the first 500 customers. Alternatively, spend $100 net in a single receipt and get the tote bag free.

The store is the fifth to open in Singapore, and carries items like Disney's T-shirts for Uniqlo.

The T-shirts feature beloved characters like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck and more. Apparel from the collection starts at $9.90.

In Japan, Disney and Uniqlo have featured the likes of Alice in Wonderland on items from babydoll T-shirts to leggings, which have been featured in Teen Vogue in the United States.

Fast Retailing, the operator of Uniqlo brand casual-clothing outlets in Japan, has been stepping up designer collaborations to boost its brand recognition abroad, said newspaper Japan Today.

The newspaper noted that, in the past, Uniqlo has signed consulting contracts with the likes of Jil Sander - an unlikely combination between the famed German fashion designer and a casual-clothing chain.

To visit the new Uniqlo store, visit 02-21 to 24 Causeway Point. Or log on to www.uniqlo.com for all locations.
