The Asylum Shop reopens with 11 exciting new labels

Shopaholics, look out for the newly renovated The Asylum Shop.

It returns with a bang to the local retail scene with 11 exciting fashion labels sourced from all over the world, including Sweden, Paris, London and Ireland.

The new retail concept will be more fashion-focused with ongoing efforts to source for new, inspiring labels to bring to Singapore.

Here are the highlights to lust after:

List of Brands:

Acne: Founded in Stockholm, Acne's first full collection was launched in 1998. The first full collection was launched in 1998 with the intention of creating subtle luxury and understated items originating from the philosophy that clothes should feel like someone's wardrobe - cool, personal while effortlessly chic.

Chronicles of Never: This Australian based label was founded by Gareth Moody, former Ksubi bad boy. Chronicles of Never is fast finding its niche in the underground subculture with the edgy collections. Chronicles of Never has also left its footprints in stores like Liberty, ASOS and Assembly.

Commune de Paris: Bringing together modern artistic direction and a distinct taste for classics, Commune de Paris,1871ʼs goal is to create a line of polished and elegant products; From menʼs fashion including shirts, sweaters, polo-necks and t-shirts to household accessories, such as pillows and throws.

Edun: Launched by singer Bono and his wife Ali Hewson, Edun has been inspired by the skills of African craftsmen and determined to work in a way that is beneficial to needy communities. LVMH has also recently bought over almost half its stake, marking a turning point in Edunʼs prospects.

Lyle and Scott: Lyle and Scott is a Scottish label that produces modern fashion with a vintage edge. It is now recognised as the leader in menʼs retail fashion as well as within the golfing sector after collaborations with renowned designers such as Christian Dior.

Mismo: Made by Danish luggage maker, Mismoʼs designs made out of carefully selected materials might just be the ultimate travel companion. Having won the Danish Fashion Award this May with the title of Best Danish Accessory Designer, Mismo stand by making timeless products rather than blindly following current fashion trends.

Nakkna: Based in Stockholm, Nakkna was founded in 2003 by designers Camilla Sundin, Claes Berkes and Ella Soccorsi. Nakkna's designs are avantgarde but wearable, balancing sophisticated geometric contours and inventive draping with attractive form and materials.

Tuesday Night Band Practice: A musically inspired brand from the UK and they are mainly inspired by bands such as The Sex Pistols and Guns Nʼ Roses. Goth printed shirts and rugged rock denims are what to expect.

Surface to Air: Surface to Air is a collection from Paris that offers a modern interpretation of classic and technical apparels. Past collaborations include French electronic duo Justice, furniture crafting label The Hanson Family and renowned fashion photographer Solve Sundsbo.

Whillas and Gun: Inspired by the craggy Australian outback, Whillas and Gun offers a modern tailored silhouette complete with neat masculine touch. A genuine feel is further accentuated by the treatment of wax and oil on these fabrics.

Our Legacy: Founded by Swedish duo Christopher Pierro Nyling and Bror Jockum Hallin, Our Legacy is a brand for modern gentlemen, young and old, with quintessential taste within fashion. Not too overstrained, nor too fashion but naturally well-dressed men.

The Asylum Shop is located at 22 Ann Siang Road, and opens from Mondays to Saturdays from 12pm to 8.30pm, and Sundays and Public holidays from 12pm to 6.30pm.
