Burned pop star Selina to be discharged Jan 22

Taipei, China - Pop singer Selina, who was badly burned while shooting a drama last October, is excited to be getting out of the hospital after more than three months of treatment, her father revealed yesterday.

The singer, a member of S.H.E, a local girl band, was scheduled to return home Jan. 20, in time for the Lunar New Year holiday in early February.

The 29-year-old is looking forward to her plans after going home, including walking her dog, going to a midnight movie with her fiance and singing karaoke with friends, her father Jen Ming ting wrote on his microblog.

Selina, the stage name of Jen Chia-hsuan, was burned on set during an accident involving explosives Oct. 24 last year while filming in Shanghai.

Chen Ming-jhang, director of the drama, did not post an apology online until nearly three months after the incident, drawing criticism from Selina's fans and Ella, one of her bandmates.

The star plans to marry Chang Cheng-chong, a 40 year-old lawyer, in April.

The wedding is going ahead as scheduled, despite Selina's injury, the star's father said a day earlier in a television interview.
