Hong Kong actor Dicky Cheung, 43, married his long-time girlfriend, Jess Zhang, 34, in the historic San Agustin Church in the Philippines on Monday, in front of more than 200 friends and relatives.
As for the bride's white wig, it is to symbolise her hope of being with Dicky until they grow old.
Their wedding comes a year after Jess suffered a miscarriage eight months into her pregnancy.
When the groom made his vows to the bride and held her hands, she was so touched that she shed tears. The couple's friends, Hong Kong singers Sammi Cheng, Andy Hui and William So, were moved to tears too, said a Ming Pao Daily report.
The reason the couple chose to have their wedding in the church, which has a 500-year history and continues to stand despite having been subjected to earthquakes and fires, was that their relationship could be compared to the church. Dicky told the daily that their relationship has been through 10 years of ups and downs, including two break-ups to finally culminate in their union.
Dicky jokingly said: "Jess and I have our 'little earthquakes and big fire disasters' too. But each time after we quarrel, our relationship gets even better."
