China and Hong Kong's Most Beautiful People List

From occupying top spot in the same list in 2008, Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi is now relegated to No. 19.

Fellow Chinese actress, Fan Bing Bing is now hailed as China's Most Beautiful Person as she is tops in a list of China and Hong Kong's Most Beautiful People. The list, which is published by Beijing News, ranks both male and female personalities.

Fan Bing Bing was ranked in 12th spot last year. Making second and third spot were actor Sun Hong Lei, of Seven Swords fame, and China's 'Super Girl' winner, Li Yu Chun. Super Girl is China's equivalent of American Idol.

All the personalities who made it to the list were from the entertainment industry. But fourth spot went to best-selling Chinese author and popular blogger, Han han.

The top 20 list is:

6) Karen Mok

I think that Fan Bing Bing is beautiful. She has quite lovely big eyes, sharp nose and a beautiful smile but Zhang Ziyi has never struck me as being beautiful. I think that her stardom and the popularity of her movies help to raise attention about her. If you watch a documentary on her, her former classmates in the arts and dance academy that she attended commented that she has the talent or special ability to act or "put more soul into her acting" to make you believe her character. And when I saw a skit that she did with her classmates, wow, she could really perform.

I don't know most of the names on the list but those few that I know don't even qualify as beautiful in my opinion.. judging also from the fact that Zhang Ziyi dropped tremendously from the top position suddenly, this seems more like a popularity list for that year, rather than the most beautiful people list in the literal sense.

I agree on the number 1 person. But I don't agree on a lot of them in the list. Their taste on beauty sometimes really shock you.
