Singer, actress... mother?
Not likely, said Hong Kong superstar Karen Mok at a press conference here on Wednesday.
It seems the 42-year-old will not be joining the ranks of pregnant stars in their 30s and 40s (hello Fergie, Halle Berry and Kim Kardashian).
Mok said she has ruled out parenthood.
"I'm happy with how things are at the moment. I've never had the urge to become a mother," she said.
The glowing beauty, who tied the knot with her German finance executive husband in 2011, said she is content with life as a couple, dispelling rumours of her being pregnant.
Thankfully for her, she is not under pressure from her parents to be a mother.
"I think my mum is actually quite happy that I have chosen not to have kids...maybe she's scared I would need her help to take care of them all the time," she joked.
"I guess as parents, they only want the best for their children and for them to be happy."
Mok is in Singapore to promote her first English jazz album, Somewhere I Belong, and was speaking to the media at The Mansion at Pacific Plaza.
She was at an autograph session last Friday at Bugis+.
The album, which she described as "jazz with an oriental flavour", features jazzed-up renditions of classics such as Chris Isaak's Wicked Game, The Beatles' While My Guitar Gently Weeps and Portishead's Sour Times.
Mok talked about her life after marriage and coping with not seeing husband, Johannes Natterer, for long periods of time. To keep in touch, the couple make video calls to each other.
