Two months after tying the knot with her German fiance, Hong Kong singer-actress Karen Mok is still basking in the glow of marital bliss.
Hong Kong singer-actress Karen Mok has finally tied the knot with her German sweetheart, Johannes.
Her upbeat mood was evident from her replies in a recent e-mail interview with The New Paper.
The 41-year-old newly-wed punctuated her sentences freely with exclamation marks and, unlike most celebrities, who fear intrusion of privacy, she did not shun personal questions.
"Marriage has definitely changed my frame of mind," said Mok.
"I used to put work at the top of my list of my priorities. But now, I'm learning how to balance my job and family commitments."
After their cosy Catholic wedding ceremony, the couple toured Europe for more than a month.
"Our wedding was extremely memorable. It was perfect in all the ways I had dreamt it would be," Mok gushed.
"Even till today, whenever I look at my wedding photos, I feel I'm instantly being transported back to that special moment."
The two-time Golden Melody Best Female Vocalist also revealed her relocation plans.
"I'm going to spend a large part of my time in Europe, but I'll still fly to Hong Kong and China for work," she said.
The couple got married on Oct 1 at a countryside vineyard in Florence, Italy, where they first met at the age of 17 while studying. Johannes, a finance executive, is known to be Mok's first love. They broke up after Mok returned to Hong Kong, but reconciled again in 2009.
The 41-year-old was led by her elder brother down the isle in front of 100 guests.
Mok had chosen to get married at the church on the vineyard's premises because she had been blown away by the Chateau's beauty when she saw it being featured in a Ferragamo pictorial shoot from 1995.
She was also hands-on in planning every aspect of the wedding.
Her customised lace wedding gown, maid-of-honour's gown, and the dresses of her four flower girls were all designed by Hong Kong designer Johanna Ho. Ferragamo custom-made a single pair of shoes for Mok's wedding, and her trinkets were courtesy of De Beers jewellery.
Mok chose pink as the theme of the wedding as she thought that it would create a romantic atmosphere.
Johanne's three children from his previous marriage were also in attendance.
A wedding party will be held in Hong Kong this Sunday, Dec 18, for friends who were not able to attend her wedding in October.
