Nine years ago, Carmen Knights went to a gym with a male friend and copied what he was doing.
She said: "I'd only been a couple of times, and lifted a few weights when it was suggested that I should consider training for a competition."
She did, and her life changed for ever. It's not very often that a 39-year-old grandmother takes up training for competition. By doing that, she proved that she is not the average grandmother spending time baking and knitting, the Daily Mail reported.
Since joining a gym, the blonde has become a full-time personal trainer and taken the top prize at the British Finals.
Ms Knights, who became a pro in 2005 after winning the British Finals, told the Daily Mail: "Becoming a pro opened many doors and led to guest spots, seminars, competing abroad, appearing on the Active Channel and becoming a personal trainer to a real mix of people who are all keen to improve their fitness and physique."
Ms Knights is not the only amazing woman who has shown what regular gym work can do.
S'porean Jacqueline Ooi has a body to die for, and she is 51.
With abs of steel and a slim, toned figure, Ms Ooi looks like she could be in her 30s.
Taiwanese mother-of-two Zhang Tingxuan is 41-years-old, but can easily pass off for a woman in her 20s.
The homemaker hits the gym daily and credits exercise and a healthy diet for her youthful appearance.
