The 15th Shanghai International Film Festival kicked off on Saturday, June 16. Stars in their finest evening wear paraded down the catwalk at the opening of the nine-day event.

The jury members for the Golden Goblet Award this year are Hollywood actress Heather Graham, Chinese actress Li Bingbing and French film director Jean-Jacques Annaud.

Stars from China, Hong Kong, Korea and Japan converged at the ceremony, which will feature about 300 Chinese and foreign films.

The Golden Goblet award for best film will be chosen among the 17 entries from Russia, Mexico, China, Iran, Finland, Japan, Canada and France. No film from the US was nominated this year.

Actor Chow Yun-Fat was presented with an award for his contribution to Chinese cinema by fellow Hong Kong actor Jackie Chan, on the first day of the festival.
