Mother of five is a multi-tasker

“SUPER Mum” is a befitting title for Ms Connie Low — the winner of Similac Super Mum Competition in 2008.

A typical working mum with a kid or two usually finds it hectic to cope with the demands of a full-time job, but not for Ms Low. She not only runs a food business, she is also the mother of five girls. Her eldest daughter is 10, while the youngest was born last month.

The owner of three hawker stalls says her children are a source of motivation for her to do well in her business.

“It is never easy to manage five kids and my own business at the same time. But I am determined to provide them a well rounded education and decent lifestyle.

“I think I have coped well through sheer hard work and lots of communication with my children and husband.” Ms Low, 39, says it is possible to balance a fulfilling career and family life through good planning.

“I used to work very long hours, more than 12 hours seven days a week. But things changed when more kids came along. I learned to be hands off from work, so I can have more time for my kids.”

She is modest about her multi-tasking abilities, and even jests that her kids are busier than her as she piles them with enrichment classes and activities.

Like all parents, she wants to provide her kids with the best in everything, and that includes nutrition. She is breastfeeding her new-born baby to give her a headstart in good health — something she has done for her older children when they were babies.

And when the time comes to wean her youngest daughter to formula milk, she says Similac Follow-On is her choice as she believes in “investing in the best milk formula”. Similac’s unique fat blend also helps to keep baby’s stools soft and prevent constipation.

All her older children grew up on Similac and Gain, both of which contain important nutrients such as the Advanced EyeQ Plus System of Nutrients and Immunify Ingredients, to support babies’ mental, physical and immune system development.

The devoted mother says it brings her great joy just to see her girls happy and contented. She does not rule out having more children.

“If health and time permit, I will be happy to try for a baby boy,” she says.
