It's Sakura season at Takashimaya
by Cheryl Lim

By Cheryl Lim

THOSE of you who do not have the time and money to fly to Japan to experience the beautiful sight of cherry blossoms, fret not: You can do that right here in tropical Singapore. A close imitation, that is.

Takashimaya Department Store is presenting Experience Live Sakura @ Takashimaya, which begins today and ends on April 4.

The store has imported 50 stalks of Sakura flowers from Tokyo, which will be placed in front of the stage located on level one.

In Japan, there are over 100 variants of the cherry tree, with Sakura blossoms being one of the most popular.

There is also a range of Sakura-themed products at the department store, like a Sakura-printed tea set ($68.40), fragrant cherry-blossom tea ($35) and a Japanese rice-cake set that comes in a lovely box with cherry-blossom imprints ($28).

Receive two pieces of Sakura-themed mochi with a minimum purchase of $50 in a single receipt from Takashimaya Department Store.

This is limited to the first 50 customers each day. Other conditions apply.
