In Paris, French designer Nicolas Ghesquiere of Balenciaga banned the editor-in-chief of French Vogue, Carine Roitfeld, from his show. Roitfeld, one of the most powerful women in the European fashion industry, along with her entire staff, were blacklisted.
Rumour had it that she called in a Balenciaga sample, then loaned it to MaxMara, a brand she consults for. MaxMara then made an uncannily similar coat before the Balenciaga sample was returned.
