In celebration of the magazine's birthday, Her World has launched limited edition T-shirts and fashion totes exclusively designed by Singapore's finest designers and the Her World team.
The 50th-anniversary merchandise goes on sale today at the Glass House, which is a mobile retail shop located at an outdoor area between Wisma Atria and Takashimaya shopping centres.
For every T-shirt and tote sold, Her World will contribute $5 to UNIFEM Singapore.
Each of the three designers – Ashley Isham, Jo Soh and Nicholas Wong – came up with three T-shirt designs based on their interpretation of the spirit of the magazine. The tees are available in two colours, black and white.
Overseas-based designer Ashley Isham created a T-shirt with floral motif inspired by wayang kulit (Indonesian shadow puppet theatre). He said: "Like it's enduring significance, Her world is an iconic magazine in Singapore."
Jo Soh for Hansel, who has been reading Her World since 12, designed a T-shirt with a polka-dot theme to bring out Her World's fun and timeless spirit.
The other T-shirt creation by Nicholas Wong is his way of saying 'thank you' to Her World for supporting local designers like him through the years. The casual tee becomes sophisticated with his design of the whimsical handwritten print.
To thank readers, there are a slew of promotions and activities lined up at the Glass House.
