Her World
The best-selling women's magazine in Singapore offers more bang for the buck by offering fashion-savvy items that cater to its core readership of career women from their 20s to 40s.
Its June 2009 issue, for instance, came with a Laneige Pore Trouble kit worth $28, while a croc-print PVC clutch bag in five colours was given away with its December 2008 issue.
'Most of the time, gifts are kept intentionally Her World-branded to solidify the brand name,' says Angelina Choo, the magazine's team head of branding and promotions.
Her World also gives premiums such as cosmetics samples in conjunction with advertisers' new products.
This month's issue, for instance, comes with an anti-wrinkle cream tester from French skincare brand Vichy.
August
The monthly men's title packages premiums three to four times a year for anniversary issues and also to promote new products from its advertisers.
Its June 2009 issue came with an Estebel Homme Revitalising Serum worth $75, while a travel pouch was given away in its September edition to mark the magazine's third anniversary.
Other premiums so far include perfume miniatures of 5 to 15ml and $5 petrol vouchers.
Style:
This monthly fashion and beauty title usually gives out premiums for special issues such as anniversaries as well as to mark the two key fashion seasons each year - spring/summer and fall/winter.
For instance, it gave away a patent passport holder in three colours with its December 2009 issue for fall/winter.
Fragrance testers are also a common premium - its latest issue comes with a free Kenzo Amour women's fragrance tester while the inaugural issue of Style: Men in September last year came with a miniature Aigner Man2 fragrance.
