Kelly Poon accused of being a 'third woman'

An online post accused local singer Kelly Poon of being a 'third woman' in a relationship and broke up a marriage, local Chinese newpaper Shin Min Daily News reported.

The Shin Min report said that the allegations were posted on the micro-blogging site Twitter on November 24.

But Kelly Poon had denied any involvement during an interview with The New Paper.

She told the English tabloid that the post might be from someone who dislikes her, or the 'Kelly Poon' mentioned in the post might have referred to someone of the same name.

The singer also said that she could not think of anyone close to her who might have malicious intentions to do this to her.

Kelly's manager also denied the allegations, "It's impossible. I know the history of Kelly's past relationships and she is not someone to get herself into this."

Kelly, who is single now, had last year just broken up with a boyfriend of three years.

Later on, she was rumoured to be seeing local badminton player Ronald Susilo, but both parties have denied being involved with each other.

Not quitting showbiz

Kelly also denied rumours that she was planning to quit showbiz and returning to Singapore as an air stewardess.

Speaking to the Taiwanese media, she said that such talk probably came about because her contract was about to be up soon.

"What I can confirm at this point in time, is that I will be changing the focus on my music career in Singapore next year. This was the plan that I communicated to my management company, but the final decision still lies with them."

The Taiwanese media also questioned her about talk that she receives only $500 each month in pocket money.

Kelly confirmed this, but said that her company takes care of all her expenses such as food and lodging, and the $500 was given as an extra.

She said that she does not find this amount too little, as she doesn't spend much.
