Welcome back, yummy mummy!
by Jean Marie Tan

When Jennifer Garner became a mother four years ago, we feared we would never see her ultra-glam side again.

The 37-year-old actress has been perfectly happy to be seen in public in what has become her “uniform” – conservative, kid-friendly playtime ensembles of T-shirt, jeans and sneakers. Read: Plain, frumpy and very un-Hollywood.

But after so many months of staying relatively under the radar since the birth of her second daughter in January, Mrs Ben Affleck took some time off from mummy duty to promote her new film, The Invention Of Lying, in Los Angeles and Toronto.

Directed by and starring British funnyman Ricky Gervais, she plays his love interest in an alternate universe where humans lack the capacity for lying.

Even though her red carpet looks were put together by stylist-to-the-stars Rachel Zoe, Garner’s inner radiance and down-to-earth beauty is what makes them come alive. And that’s no lie.

1 This vintage emerald Oscar de la Renta strapless and tiered dress she wore at the movie’s screening at the Toronto International Film Festival – paired with nude Casadei platform pumps – will make any
fashionista green with envy.
We also love the tousled hair, sexy
make-up and silver Cartier clutch and bling.
2 She continued her hot streak while plugging The Invention Of Lying on The Jay Leno Show in Los Angeles, appearing in a gorgeous purple, asymmetrical draped Alberta Ferretti dress and gold open-toed Casadei heels.
3 This black strapless Gucci Resort 2010 mini-dress with pale blue embroidered paillettes from the Los Angeles premiere isn’t wowing like it ought to. Maybe it’s because the beachwear-esque floral print makes it look like it’s from JC Penny. Garner should’ve ditched the boring black pumps for fierce strappy sandals and added the runway cinched belt for a more fashion forward twist. 4 Garner once said she never goes nuts with her look, but that doesn’t give her an excuse to go so safe either. She opted for a reserved LBD from Stella McCartney at the movie’s press conference at the Toronto International Film Festival. She has a fab body, but those billowing bat wing sleeves aren’t doing it any favours.
